Trilok Gurung’s journey highlights two great messages. One, it illustrates the sincerity, the hard work and the community spirit often talked about of Nepalese immigrants. Two, it signifies the ‘can-do’ and ‘never give up’ entrepreneurial spirit that is so typical of so many Hong Kong stories.

𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞:

Trilok Gurung is Founder & Owner of Gurkhas Ekta International, a human resources services provider founded in 2003.  Trilok started his career working in the British army in HK. He then had some small entrepreneurial stints in Nepal before joining the army of Sultanate of Oman. After working there for a few years, Trilok moved back to HK where took up a job in construction and grew through the ranks in different construction companies.

Until one day, the company he worked for stopped their work in HK. This forced Trilok to start his own construction business, supported by his previous employers, friends and family. He grew this business manifold and diversified over time in other areas like security and renewable energy. Trilok has employed many Gurkhas and people of ethnic minority communities, helping them to thrive in an expensive place like HK. His Gurkha security guards are at work in many casinos of Macau, many five-star hotels in HK and Macau, hospitals, hotels, schools and buildings.

Recently, Trilok started a Compressed Natural Gas company in Nepal based on the concept of waste to energy. Trilok’s company also helped the Government and people of Nepal in the difficult Covid times by transporting many oxygen cylinders and medical supply.
